Year 11 Shine in Mock Interviews
Following their visit to the School and College Leavers Festival at the NEC in Birmingham — where they explored apprenticeships, met employers such as Siemens and learned about careers in the armed forces — our Year 11s have continued their career preparation with a highly successful Mock Interview Day.Every student took part in a 1‑to‑1 interview with an external volunteer from a professional background. The aim was to help students build confidence, practise communication skills and experience what a real interview feels like.
The feedback from interviewers was outstanding and they were especially impressed with the confidence and professionalism of our pupils, while also praising how they articulated their answers in a bold and engaging way. It is these sorts of qualities that will ensure our learners standout when it comes to applying for college places, apprenticeships and jobs.
A huge thank you goes to all volunteers who gave their time and expertise. Their support made the experience incredibly valuable for our students.
We are committed to giving students the opportunities, skills and ambition they need for life beyond Newbridge, and we are especially proud of how our Year 11 students rose to the challenge.
