Mobile Phone and Electronic Devices

Students may bring phones to school, however, they must be switched off in bags for the entirety of the school day. Having phones switched off prevents students from being distracted in lessons and losing concentration, improves the speed of transition between lessons (preventing a loss of learning time) and safeguards our young people from insensitive and inappropriate uses of that technology. 

The policy includes confiscation on sight, parents and guardians could be asked to come into school to collect the phone. 

The policy extends to airpods/headphones/earphones and other devices. We would like to stress this is designed to improve learning, safety and socialisation and not upset our students.
