Team Newbridge Kick Off the Season With Energy and Determination

Our first fixture evening of the year saw strong performances in both sports. The girls’ netball team worked hard throughout the evening, showing real improvement and determination against tough opposition. A special congratulations goes to Grace, who was named Girl of the Game in both matches.

Our Year 10 boys’ football team also impressed. As reigning District Champions, they delivered a confident performance to progress to the County Cup knockout stage, with goals from Alfie (3) and Harry (1) securing the win.

Later in the week, we welcomed Castle Rock, Ivanhoe and Ibstock for Year 9 football and netball fixtures. Both of our teams represented the school brilliantly, showing maturity, focus and excellent sportsmanship throughout.

We also hosted the North West Leicestershire Year 7 Football and Netball Tournaments. Although results didn’t go our way, our Year 7s played with real character, giving everything from start to finish and supporting each other throughout the afternoon.

A huge thank you to our PE team for their organisation, encouragement and commitment to providing these experiences for our students. We look forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings.
