Badminton team's sporting success

Congratulations to our talented sports stars who were recently celebrated at the annual North West Leicestershire 'Let's Get Moving Awards.'

Hosted by the North West Leicestershire School Sports Partnership (NWLSSP) every November, this event recognises the sporting accomplishments of young people throughout the year.

Our KS3 Girls Badminton team took away the 'Secondary School Team of the Year' trophy this year. Their competitive success, strong team spirit and fair play, secured this award for them.

Throughout the year, the team worked hard balancing their academic studies with badminton training, refining their skills and showcasing their hard work in local and county competitions. Not only did they make it through all their matches without a single defeat but also without dropping a single point!

The success continued for our Key Stage 3 Boys' Badminton Team who received the highly-commended award for their stellar efforts. They triumphed in the local North West Leicestershire tournament and went on to win a county competition, winning all their matches in the process.

Adding to the celebration, Year 11 student Mackenzie was named 'Junior Sportsperson of the Year' for her achievements in tap-dancing, representing Team GB. At just 15 years old, Mackenzie became a world champion at the World Tap Dance Championships in Germany, securing two gold medals.

Year 10 student Katie, last year's 'Sports Person of the Year,' returned to the awards ceremony as a guest speaker.

Congratulations to all our deserving winners, we are incredibly proud of your achievements!
